More sales in our portfolio as I try to save our hard earned capital instead of being blasé about it. Whether now is a good time to sell after stocks have fallen more than 20-30% from their all time highs is debatable. But having an anchoring bias to an all-time high prices & valuation is exactly the reason why I see some investors trapped and not accepting the reality.

2 Recent Buys – CSU, BIP

BuySell

A quick update on two purchases in my portfolio from last week. These will probably be the last purchases of the year.

  • First purchase: I added to my position in Constellation Software Inc (CSU.TO) @ $1,229.48. I had already built up a full position, but the recent pullback was too enticing to ignore. I decided to go overweight and add more to my CSU position. This is my fourth iteration of the purchase. See previous purchases here.
  • Second purchase: I added to my position in Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP (BIP.UN.TO) @ $65.40. The announcement to split between LP & C-corp sent the shares soaring over the past few months and the recent pullback finally allowed me to add more to my position. A current yield of just above 4% is a decent price to pay, with a dividend growth announcement of between 5-9% expected in Feb 2020.

3 Recent Buys – BAM, BIP, CU

BuySell

A quick update on three recent purchases in my portfolio. No new companies in the portfolio in this edition, but continued adding to my existing positions where I saw relatively good valuation.

  • First purchase: I added to my position in Brookfield Asset Management (BAM.A.TO) @ CAD$63.70. BAM continues to acquire high quality assets all around the world and is arguably the best alternate asset manager in the world. The stock yields 1.32% and adds US$32.00 in annual dividends.
  • Second purchase: I added to my position in Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP (BIP.UN.TO) @ CAD$57.10. The stock yields 4.6% and adds US$100.50 in annual dividends.
  • Third purchase: I added to my position in Canadian Utilities (CU.TO) @ $35.95. CU currently yields 4.7% and this purchase adds a further $169.00 in annual dividends.

3 Recent Buys – CSU, JNJ, BIP

BuySell

A quick update on three recent purchases in my portfolio. One of these three purchases is a new company in my portfolio. This is a company that I have been obsessively reading about for months now and finally decided that I need to own a piece of it. As a growth-focused company, this may not appear cheap for value investors, but the company has a proven track record of amazing capital allocation, diligent screening process for its growth through acquisitions, a legendary leader, cornering various niche markets…and the list goes on.

2 Recent Buys – BIP, TD

BuySell

A quick update on a couple of purchases in our portfolios. It is getting harder and harder to find good value plays as the market seems be pushing the boundaries on the valuation front. With a lot of stocks trading close to 52-week highs, pickings have been pretty slim. However, due to an oversized cash position, I decided to pay up on a couple of strong companies and add to my existing positions.
