Top Investment Picks Contest for 2018

Hi all,

I am compiling a list of top investment picks from the investing community. There is no prize, except bragging rights 😉 As usual, this is meant to be a fun exercise to capture our collective ideas.

You can follow previous year’s picks here.

I have reached out privately to some of the people I regularly interact with, but if you haven’t heard from me, and would like to participate, please get in touch with me and I will add your entry. Be sure to include

  1. Your (blog) name
  2. Your top investment pick for 2018
  3. Reason why you think the pick is the best asset to invest in.

You can pick any asset you like – a stock, bond, commodity, a cryptocurrency etc. Please get your picks in before Dec 31. I will compile the list and post it on the blog in early January.

Best Regards,
R2R

  1. Hi R2R,

I like the idea of the contest and all the other good work you do out there inspiring.

Alright, so my best idea for 2018 is CVS. My Blog s name is The Dividend Karma at http://www.dividendkarma.com.

The reason behind my pick is per below:
    1) CVS is currently undervalued when you look at EBIT/EV ratio, cash flow from operations or any other parameters. AET deal is surely looming and Fear of Amazon penetration into this sector are the main reason CVS isn’t doing very well currently but on my blog I have mentioned how AET could be helpful and will add positive cash flow, while I agree it’s over payment to AET but it will still be alright looking at all ratios.
    2) CVS pays about 39% corporate tax and with today’s President signature on Tax reform, the new law is 21% that will add significant amount of cash back in business which will give nice boost to valuation on the basis on cash flow calculations per these newby MBAs :).

I have been wrong so many times in past and I could be proven wrong here as well so let’s see how accurate I am on my pick by end of the next year.

    Good Luck and Happy Investing.
    The Dividend Karma – TDK.
