Chatter Around the World – 160

Chatter Around the World is a curated weekly update of articles related to economics, investing, dividends and personal finance. In these weekly updates, I also capture my blog updates and news related to my portfolio holdings.

Announcement: This will be the last weekly links edition. While I have enjoyed putting this together for the readers (and also for me personally as a way to collect links for later reference), I have been spending too much time on this series of posts for which I am not seeing a good return on investment (of my time). I will be spending more time on newer projects that I am pursuing. Meanwhile I still intend to continue the rest of my posts about my personal journey towards financial independence. Thank you for the continued support through the years.

  1. It’s probably for the best that this series ends. I’ve noticed that the only time people really comment are when the authors themselves thank you for putting their names out there. I’m guilty of that too, so no judgment is being passed on anyone, but it still didn’t seem to be worth it for you in the end.

Probably better to have more articles regarding your march to financial freedom. Especially your thoughts and insights on certain subjects.

  2. Sorry to see this series go by the wayside, since I enjoyed it. But I completely understand your point of view. Time is valuable and if you don’t get the returns, its time to move on!

Take care and I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re up to in those new endeavors.

  3. I’m going to miss these posts. I’ve cut back significantly on my Good Reads series, mostly because people like you were already compiling awesome weekly reads. Maybe I need to dust those babies off and start posting again.

    • Good to hear that you are considering the series back to life again 🙂

It would be great if you did, would be a good way for me to catch up on stuff if I miss something. JC from Passive Income Pursuit is still doing his weekly posts, so atleast we have someone in the community doing it — but if you have another series going, that would be fantastic.

  4. I will say your series provided a view that was always worthy of consideration. Many an article sparked mental gymnastics on the multiple consequences of a single action. Avid reader but poor in comments. Good luck on your other endeavors.
