    • Yes, companies are rushing to secure their own power needs these days. I think other big ones like Apple, Google and Facebook are well on their way as well. I think I remember reading FB will reach 100% goal in 2018. Interesting times indeed.

  1. Thank you for compiling this list of articles, and including me. That chart is a very interesting one – good find. Powering your business through renewable energy is probably one way to differentiate your product/services if you are in a competitive field. The banks and insurance and telecom companies listed above probably market themselves as responsible corporate citizens.

    • Thats right, DGI. Its where the world is headed — free energy! You make big investments (say in solar PVs) and those investments pay for themselves in a few years and then its free energy after. Lots of companies are buying their own solar farms and wind farms, and Im sure we will see a bigger chunk of companies move towards self-reliance.
