Passive Income Update – Sep 2015

Welcome to our monthly passive income update for Sep 2015. This is part of the scorecard series where I track our dividends and other sources of passive income. I also include changes and updates related to our portfolio during the month.

Passive Income  Update

Passive income for the month of September 2015 was C$691.65. The passive income comprised of US$342.95 and C$235.53 (exchange rate is US$1 = C$1.33). Passive income this month is up 0.38% QoQ and 194.23% YoY.

PassiveIncome-Sep2015

With September in the wraps, our passive income YTD is $5,584.02! We have now crossed our annual goal of earning $5,500 in passive income!!! 🙂 As you can imagine, I am ecstatic with this achievement and something that we are proud of. We had no idea that we would achieve this goal in three quarters when we were setting goals last December. We intend to let the rest of this year continue earning as usual instead of upping the goal for three months and focus on setting our sights much higher for 2016!

Awesome job R2R! Ahead of schedule on your passive income and with a quarter to spare. That’s amazing. The end of 2015 is setting up to be a nice quarter for you. I’m glad that the summer is behind us so it hopefully will bring in some more income on the writing/blogging side. If you add that to my dividends for the year I’m up over $6,500 for the year in non-work related income. Still got a long ways to go to reach FI but it’s a good start.

    • Hi JC,
Thanks for stopping by and the wishes. 2015 is turning out to be a fantastic year. I am on track to get well past 7000 in fact, so cant really complain. Good to hear that you are making great progress as well. Lets crush these goals together!

      Best wishes

  2. Good job R2R. You’re doing awesome. Consistency and persistency pays off. Never give up and never surrender. Thanks for sharing and happy for your families progress. Your wife and you must be so thrilled. I know we are when we do our reports every month. Truly a blessing and reaching independence surely.
Keep it up and take care.

    • We sure are thrilled with the progress! Slowly and surely we will get there and reach financially independence. I cant wait until I bring in enough cash each month to fund a full purchase of a batch of stocks. Right now, I would say, Im half way there, as I usually tend to transact in 1200-1500 range 🙂

  3. Wow passed your annual goal already, that’s awesome R2R! You’re receiving dividends from lots of high quality dividend paying stocks. Keep up the great work.

  4. I think your timing is darn good on AMGN. Lots of other biotechs have been killed recently, so its a good time to pick out a few dividend paying names from the sector. Nice month!

    • I pulled the trigger a wee bit too soon, but then again, I have been bad at timing the market. In it for the long haul and I think AMGN is looking good for that 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by

  5. R2R,

Awesome work. Congrats on passing your goal already, still with three months to go. That’s fantastic!!

I had a blockbuster month of dividend income as well, so I’m excited to share that in the coming days. I don’t include writing/blogging income in my passive income numbers, but I’m solidly on pace to crush my separate goal of netting $36k this year.

Keep it up. I’m sure you’re going to have a great Q4!

    Best regards.

    • Thanks for stopping by and the wishes, Jason.
Glad to hear that you had a great month too – looking forward to the update. Wow…almost $36K is amazing! You sure are killing it. Hope to get there someday and your work is inspiring as always.

      Best wishes

  6. Always inspiring and exciting to see what dividend growth can achieve in just a few short years. Nice list of names contributing to your September totals. Congrats on crossing your 2015 dividend income goal with three months still to go! Time to revise upwards??? Keep up the good work. Keep buying those solid dividend payers.

    • Hi DivHut. It is exciting and amazing to watch the progress. I was looking back at my original posts back in 2013 and I was making about $100 a month…I sure have come a long way since.
Im really happy with achieving this goal and the well wishes from the rest of the community are appreciated. I think I will leave it as is for now and simply just aim higher for next year, instead of upping the goal for next three months.

Hope you are well on your way to achieve your goals as well

  7. Nice dividend income stream your are consistently getting each month R2R! Can’t believe you already hit your goal for the year. I guess that means you can either start on next years goal or maybe shoot for a secondary or revised annual goal. 🙂

Keep up the great momentum you have there. Best wishes and continued success my friend. AFFJ
