    • Well, thats the way it goes, doesnt it. You miss out and something like this and the stock gets away from you. Frankly Im not surprised that Target is leaving Canada – they made a lot of strategically bad decisions and coupled with bad deals and no one was interested in shopping there.

Hope you are having a good weekend.

      • Regarding Target…..I’m just glad management finally decided to cut their losses…..although with a declining middle class, Target’s growth story may be capped. Retail is all about reinvention. Maybe Target can reinvent themselves again?!

        • Bryan,
The prices werent competitive enough, but Target made a lot of strategic mistakes that proved lethal for the company in Canada. I read an article somewhere last week which detailed all the things that went wrong. The biggest mistake they made was announcing to the world exactly when and where their stores were opening instead of a slower rollout. This gave all of their competitors enough time to move to corner the market in every single way to undermine them when they finally opened their doors. Im sure others will learn from their experience.

    • d2r,
Thanks for stopping by and the comment. Its great that you are starting out so young and already thinking about whats important for you and have a goal in mind. Those school expenses seem really hefty – and I wish you the best in your journey. Start socking away a little bit regularly and time will take care of the rest.
